The Project & Foundation
The Fatherless Daughter Project (TFDP) is an Atlanta-based non-profit (501c3) that is tied to the upcoming book by Denna Babul and Dr. Karin Luise, The Fatherless Daughter Project: Understanding Our Losses and Reclaiming Our Lives. Published on June 7, 2016 by Avery-Penguin/Random House, the book and all of its research inspired both women to start the organization.
The organiztaion is focused on raising awareness, providing education and resources, and encouraging empowerment through mentorship for girls and women who have lost the bond with their fathers from a range of circumstances including divorce, death, abandonment, detachment, incarceration, addiction and abuse. Both women believe their life’s mission is to help fatherless women understand their losses and reclaim their lives with fierce resilience.
The non-profit is committed to local, national, and global outreach for fatherless daughters, mothers, fathers, siblings, and those who love them- to encourage growth, healing and transformation in their lives and relationships. It is also establishing a mentorship program for fatherless daughters that will be replicated in cities all over the world. By establishing scholarships, resources and support for girls and women, TFDP will help these women grow toward the lives they were meant to lead.
