We’re Launching!
The Latest has been The Greatest
With our nonprofit launching in less than a week, we wanted to make some changes. The first change is adding this blog to our website so we could continue to update all of you on our journey and our progress. This launch has been a long time coming and believe that it has been all worth it.
The Launch
So, we’re launching!
Wednesday. September 30, 2016. Tootsie’s of Atlanta. 6-9 p.m. Be. There.
It is beyond crazy this is finally all coming into place. To say we are excited would be a complete understatement. For the past few months we have been working diligently with our board of directors to organize the launch party for our nonprofit organization. The event will be hosted at Tootsie’s clothing boutique near Lenox Mall and consist of a night of shopping, sharing, and donating.
Our VIP is VID
With an extensive list of over 40 sponsors from around Atlanta, the night will kick off with a Very Important Daughter reception. Catered by Lucky’s Burgers & Brew and drinks served by Cathead Vodka, VIDs as we like to call them, will each get a swag bag full of goodies from some of our other sponsors. At 7p.m. doors open for general admission. For a price of $25 a ticket, you’ll be invited to take part in the night’s festivities.
Funtivities
You could spend the night sipping HoneyBubble, Cathead Vodka’s signature drink for the night. Then shop Tootsie’s latest fall fashions with 10 percent off your purchase going back to TFDP. Or maybe you’d have more fun at our silent auction table where you could bid on a variety of items totaling a value of over $7,000. These secret steals of the night have been donated from companies such as the Atlanta Hawks, Stellar Bodies, The Bert Show, Kendra Scott, Spanx, and more.
Let’s Present
Then, the presentation will start. The production will be emceed by host of Atlanta Plugged In on CBS46, Kimberley Kennedy and on-air TV personality, Stacey Elgin. Both on the TFDP Board, Kimberley and Stacey have been longtime friends of Denna and Karin. They will introduce the two authors and then show an informational video about the project. The audience will then have a chance to hear the story of a fatherless daughter, Laken Radansky. A public relations major at the University of South Carolina, Laken will reveal her fatherless journey and healing process.
The presentation will end with a Q&A session with Denna, Karin, myself, and Emmy award winning TV Broadcast Journalist and Show Host for KISS 104.1, Monica Pearson. We’ll each answer one question about our own experiences of being fatherless and how TFDP has changed our lives.
The End of the Night
The night will conclude with more shopping, mingling, and bidding. The silent auction winners will be announced at 9p.m. sharp by WXIA-TV’s Atlanta & Company host, Christine Pullara, and the night will conclude.
We’d love to have you be a part of this exciting time for us. We’ve worked passionately, diligently, and quite frankly, probably a little ridiculously for the past few months to plan this launch. However, it is here, and we’re ready to celebrate. Whether you’d like to attend or maybe just volunteer, we’d like to welcome you. Feel free to contact us in you’re interested.
